IMPORTANT NOTES THAT MIGHT NOT FIT ELSEWHERE
VS PREEMPTS DOUBLES
Take out x + Lebensohl against weak 2. 3¨ is a sort of Lebensohl after 3§ preemt and a take out x.
TAKEOUT DOUBLES (Style;Response;Reopening)
VS ARTIFICIAL STRONG BIDS A double of a 1 level opening shows opening or equivalent values in addition to at least three cards in any unbid major suit, 17+ in any suit or 19-21 balanced HCP. In balancing pos, the x could be weaker. A double of a preemt shows better values and is more likely to include 4 cards in unbid majors. Natural responses over opps 1 level openings. For responses over preemts see paragraph regarding this to the left.
We use the same defense on the 2 level as we do agains NT openings. Over 2§, x takes the place of 2§ in that defense. Over strong 1§, overcalls on the 1 level is natural, x is 15+ balanced and 1 NT is 15+ unbalanced
SUGGESTED DEFENCE TO TRANSFERS AFTER 1§ OPENING
1§ - 1¨ : x showing hearts, 1© being a take out double.
OVER OPPONENTS TAKE OUT DOUBLES SPECIAL, ARTIFICIAL AND COMPETITIVE (RE-)DOUBLES. 1§ - 1© : x showing spades, 1ª being a take out double.
RD show 10+ HCP and interest to double opps in at least two of the unbid suits. All other bids are as if the double didn't occur.

When opps compete in the suit ranking directly under our own at the 3 level, a double is invitational to game and a bid of 3 in our suit is strictly competitive. We also use support x and xx up to 3¨. Responsive x up to 4ª. Negative doubles are used up to 4¨. 1§ - 1ª : x take out with both majors.
